On June the 11th 2009 IDM was established under the supervision of the Egyptian ministry of petroleum in accordance to the Egyptian laws of investments and incentive guarantees (Law no. 8 of year 1997).
IDM was established as a private free zone area company under the Egyptian free zone regulations.
IDM is a joint venture company structured by Ganope, Petrojet & Ennpi companies, which represents the Egyptian petroleum public sector through holding 50% share and Star Oil & Gas Limited "SOG" and Petro Materials "PMC" companies which represents Japan and the people's republic of China through holding 50% share.
IDM is the first company in Egypt to add value on semi-finished steel pipes. IDM high production capacity threading and coupling facility serves the OCTG local and regional market demand for Casing & Tubing using the state of art technologies which assist and support the market requirement for high quality production and to satisfy petroleum production companies and tube distributors' demand.
The project lies in the North West Gulf of Suez in Ain Sokhna on a private free industrial Zone of an area 47,002 m2 near the International Sokhna Port, Thus, providing IDM with a strategic geographical location that facilitates it to export to nearby global markets.
